"EMPOWERMENT ON THE PATH OF TRANSFORMATION" (Master Series)
100 x 120 cm.
Mixed media on Belgian linen.
This painting with in its middle the Double Vajra is dedicated to Amoghasiddhi, one of the five Dhyani Buddha's.
He embodies transformation and in the Tibetan iconography his vehicle is the Winged Man (Garuda), who is moving through the element Air/Wind and always reaching for higher insight. He is symbolised in this painting by he wing shapes at the four sides of the canvas.
Amoghasiddhi's symbol is the Double Vajra. The Vajra or Dorje is one of the most significant ritual utensils in Tibetan Buddhism. This "Diamond Sceptre" symbolises the supreme insight, which in its indestructible power cuts all suffering and illusion.
The Double Vajra or "Visvajra" is surrounded by 9 x 12 rows of Boddhisattva figures. In the East -derived from their astrology system- the multiplied number amounting to 108 symbolises Cosmic Consciousness. As such these figures are a witness to the power of Amoghasiddhi and an invitation to fearlessly walk the path of transformation.
