CRYSTALLIZATION
100 x 75 cm.
Acrylics and Indian embroidery on Belgian linen.
This painting is dedicated to Pythagoras. At the base of the triangle we can see the Greek word tetractis. This word Pythagoras used to relate to a triangle with ten specifically placed dots inside its borderlines. For him it was a symbol for the transcendent and for divine consciousness.
The painting is divided in three specific parts. The bottom part in dark blue hues represents the deepest layers of man's subconscious. In the middle part the contents, previously hidden in the subconscious, surface. They tend to manifest themselves in a rather stormy way, after being repressed and ignored for so long. The seeker works with them, looking for healing and transformation. In the top part we see the spiritual dawn; the rising sun -the tetractis symbol within its contour- appears.
The text inside the lower part of the circle is a copy from the last verse of the Golden Verses of Pythagoras. The last sentence of this verse reads as follows:
So that, ascending into radiant Ether,
Midst the Immortals, thou shalt be thyself a God.
